In their words

After the workshop.

Executives, entrepreneurs, parents and retirees — different rooms, different questions, the same shift. These are their words, largely as they spoke them.

“On a professional standpoint, this is a well-made workshop, from start to finish. I kid you not. The workshop should be something everyone can follow, easy to understand — but the impact is very strong. Never have I seen this level, aside from Harvard simulations.”

Yesterday, my husband and I attended a financial freedom seminar by our friends Sherwin Yap and Chewy Yap. What stood out most was the application — practical tools on building a household balance sheet, cash flow statement and tracking net worth.

I've been doing these since 2007, but I still walked away with fresh insights and better ways of thinking about finances.

Biggest takeaway: Financial Freedom = Passive Income > Expenses. Simple, but it calls for discipline and intentional action.

It's a different kind of learning when facilitators share their own real stories of success and demonstrate theory in action. Inspiring to witness their confidence, competence and genuine commitment to educating Filipinos here and abroad on financial freedom. Well done, Bai and Chewy!

Ang sarap sanang naging tropa ni Bai nung college pa. Iba kasi yung wiring ng utak nya — and also, of course, Chewy din. First time ko to attend a workshop like this, and natutuwa ako.

At first, pag sinabing mga ganitong about money, meron akong parang inferiority — parang wala naman akong maraming pera. I'm just open right now to really know more about it.

What's good in this workshop today is that you presented it in a way na hindi mo kailangang agad gawin, pero dapat alam mo. You never know — biglang nagkaroon ka ng opportunity to have a certain amount of money, dapat alam mo na kung saan ka dapat pupunta.

Bai and Chewy delivered one of the best financial workshops I've ever attended. It was incredibly easy to understand and follow — of course, as long as you're willing to stay disciplined.

They broke down what financial freedom really means and what it actually takes to get there. It's not just about escaping your 9–5 or daydreaming about beaches — it's about building a life where you have choices, control and peace of mind.

Money shouldn't be a taboo topic. It's not a dirty word. The more we openly talk about it, learn about it and take ownership of it, the more empowered we become to create the life we want.

On a professional standpoint, this is a well-made workshop, from start to finish. It's easy to follow, but the lessons are there. It's well curated — this isn't something someone thought about six months ago. It's years of best practices squeezed into a very short amount of time.

This has been the most unique financial freedom talk I have been to. Because John Calub was my boss before and I was the one who launched his money magnet seminars.

My favorite one is: “I want to be better at creating passive income. But I can think. I can wait. And I can fast.” That is so different from what other people are telling us — to just grab, grab, grab opportunity. Taking that pause might be the most important thing that you do. Hinga muna.

Feeling ko, napakagandang purpose nito sa buhay. You can change a lot of lives. The perception is always, “Because it's them, it's not for us.” Pero, knowing the structure behind it, it's very smart. Anyone can do it. It can be life-changing for us.

Sobrang salamat. Continue to do this advocacy — malaking tulong ito sa lahat ng tao. I'm excited to go back home and start to educate my kids about it.

Ang realization ko talaga: you have to live simply. You have to develop your skills. Hindi pwedeng tumigil. Wag kang tamad. Kailangan mag-attend ka ng mga ganito. Mag-aral ka. Magbasa ka. I-apply mo.

And also, you have to build a network so you have connections. Tapos, mag-diversify ka rin ng income mo. Mag-invest ka. Kahit maliliit na streams of income, para meron ka. Ang daming takeaways. Maraming salamat sa inyo.

For me, what's powerful is speaking from the voice of experience — seeing that the words of wisdom really come from living proof. It's a success story.

The difference is, when you hear financial lessons from titos, titas or parents born out of frustration or mistake, they're telling you what not to do. It's really different when you're hearing the story as living proof of a success story — that's why you want to copy it. You are not being sold something. That's what makes it feel real, doable, attainable.
